Dina Harbour's mission....

My mission to help empower women started back in 1994.  I was a Loan Closer for the Small Business Administration.  My job was to go over the requirements and documents of the loans provided by the SBA.  I would meet with married women, single women, single Moms, and widowed women and 95% of these women were unaware as well as somewhat ignorant about their own financial matters.  This went for the remaining time I held that position.  Their ages and race varied, but most women still seem to not be as knowledgeable as males  when it pertained to their financial documents and matters.

Now with over 20-years experience in the areas of lending and finance, I am on a crusade to change the numbers.  Although statistics show that women out live their male spouse, we still find if difficult to give up what I call, The fairytale syndrome. This is when a  woman have the mind-set that she will be taken care of by her spouse therefore not taking an active role in educating and/or understanding her financial situation.

I get into heavy debates with married women about this subject matter but I stand strong in my beliefs.  Ignorance doesn't help anyone, especially when when it comes to money.  So i continue on with my quest using various vehicles such as my organization Women Obtaining Wealth which is an organization that assist women with pursuing their life purpose, my coaching and speaking service Women Financial Empowerment, and my new endeavor teaching kids about money at K.A.M.P. which stands for the Kids And Money Program.
